The Philippine Military Academy has strengthened its academic and research initiatives through a new partnership with the Department of Science and Technology – Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC).

The collaboration was highlighted during a recent visit by officials from DOST-MIRDC’s Office of the Executive Director at the PMA Headquarters Academic Group.

Dr. Gabriel Avelino Sampedro, a Balik Scientist of DOST-MIRDC, delivered a lecture titled “Beyond Reality: Integrating Digital Twins with Metaverse, Industrial IoT, and Artificial Intelligence” to military and civilian faculty members of the Techno-Scientific School, including representatives from the Department of Information Technology, Department of Mathematics, and Department of Natural Sciences.

The engagement came as PMA prepares for accreditation under the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework.

PMA said it is expanding partnerships with external stakeholders to enhance instructional quality and advance research capabilities.

“Through this engagement, the Academy seeks to explore academic and research collaboration opportunities and identify concrete steps toward establishing a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership,” the PMA said.
