Tropical Storm ‘Isang’ exits PAR

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday morning reported that Tropical Storm “Isang” (international name: Kajiki) has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The tropical storm’s center was estimated 440 kilometers west of Bacnotan, La Union, as of 10 a.m. It was moving westward at 30 kilometers per hour (kph).

Isang had maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

It will continue moving westward throughout the forecast period, expected to make landfall or pass close to Hainan, China, on Sunday afternoon or evening.

The tropical cyclone will continue to intensify and reach severe tropical storm category by this afternoon or evening. Moreover, it could reach typhoon category by Sunday evening.
