Bulacan town offers scholarships in law

THE municipal government of Pandi, Bulacan, has partnered with Baliuag University to provide free law studies for qualified local government employees.

A memorandum of agreement forged on Monday guarantees full financial support for the Juris Doctor (JD) program, covering tuition, miscellaneous and academic-related fees, allowances, and other necessary expenses.

Mayor Enrico Roque said the initiative aims to enable local government personnel to pursue legal studies without the burden of costs, thereby allowing them to serve Pandi residents more effectively and professionally.

According to Digest.ph, in the Philippines, legal education is offered through Juris Doctor (J.D.) programs, and requires an additional four to five years of study — depending if you are a day (i.e. full-time) or evening (i.e. working) student. These years are spent studying and practicing various branches of law, including civil law, criminal law, labor law, commercial law, and legal ethics, among others.
