The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has intercepted three suspected victims of illegal recruitment who were about to board their flight to Spain at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
The passengers, two males and one female, in their late 30’s and early 40’s, attempted to board an Emirates airline flight to Spain when they were halted by Immigration officers.

The agents doubted the trio’s claim that they were working in a local tech company and were on their way to attend a business conference abroad.
They were referred for secondary inspection, where they subsequently admitted to be traveling to Spain for employment purposes. They said they paid over P 300,000 to a purported recruiter they met on social media.
