Presidential son and Ilocos Rep. Ferdinand Alexander ‘Sandro’ Marcos issued a statement Tuesday, decrying the diatribe of Vice President Sara Duterte against the advice of his father, President Marcos, who remains quiet about the issue.
“As a son, I cannot stay silent while she threatens to exhume a former president and behead an incumbent one. Besides, her bizarre temper tantrum has been condemned by a nation horrified from such displays of insensitivity towards the dead and cruelty to the living,” Rep. Marcos said.
The lawmaker noted he initially withheld reacting to the “abhorrent comments” the Vice President “so carelessly uttered,” out of respect for her office, but he believed “one must draw the line at some point and it’s frankly long overdue.”
