The Department of Tourism (DOT) accredited St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) as the leading medical tourism facility on July 15, 2024.
The accreditation reflects SLMC’s exceptional facility, comprehensive range of healthcare services and advanced medical technology it offers to its patients, together with their skilled and world-renowned medical professionals.
“We are proud to be recognized by the DOT for our efforts in providing quality healthcare to all patients, regardless of where they come from,” SLMC president and chief executive Dr. Dennis Serrano said.
“SLMC’s hospitals in Quezon City and Global City are staffed by locally and internationally acclaimed medical experts and are equipped with the latest and state-of-the-art healthcare technology, thus providing optimal patient outcomes through cost-competitive treatments and services,” he said.
As the lead medical tourism facility, SLMC will play a pivotal role in championing the Philippines as an attractive option for individuals seeking high-quality, affordable medical treatments combined with the opportunity to experience the country’s rich cultural heritage and natural wonders.
DOT Secretary Maria Esperanza Christina Frasco shared her personal story as a normal patient on how SLMC treated her leg injury without introducing herself.
Dr. Serrano said the designation is a testament to SLMC’s dedication to delivering the highest standard of patient care.
Frasco also announced the upcoming plans of DOT together with SLMC to provide quality health services to foreign and local patients through medical tourism concierge and lounge, tourism emergency facility and health and tourism app.
