The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has commended a janitor who returned a bag containing P50,000 he found in a pushcart at the Laguindingan Airport in Cagayan de Oro on Monday.
The cleaning man, Joshua Bustamante, spotted the bag and reported it to the airport management.
CAAP information officer Karen Villanda said the bag with the money was later claimed by a female passenger, who had traveled from Manila and was returning to her province in Lanao.
Area Center 10 manager Job De Jesus lauded Bustamante for his honesty, saying “this positive and inspiring story reinforced trust and community at Laguindingan Airport.”
“He exemplifies the highest standards of honesty and service we uphold. Mr. Bustamante’s dedication and values inspire all airport employees, reminding us of the goodness and integrity present in our busy environment. We laud him for his honesty and swift action,” De Jesus said.
