Puregold strengthens support for sari-sari store owners with ‘Tindahan Ni Aling Puring Negosyo Convention 2024’

When people within strong communities are continually developing, the communities themselves progress as well.

By standing together and sharing knowledge and experiences, one can create a network of support that will help us push through even the toughest of times.

This is why local grocery store chain Puregold continues to support small business owners and desires for every business to grow. In fact, its Tindahan ni Aling Puring (TNAP) program, designed to give bulk discounts and financial aid opportunities to sari-sari store owners, nearly has a million members.

“In the face of daily challenges, obstacles, and adversity, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and defeated, but by coming together as a community, we become stronger,” said Puregold chairman Susan Co. “Proof of that power is Puregold ending the 2023 with 850,000 sari-sari store members and about 50,000 karinderya members. That’s 900,000 micro, small, and medium thriving entrepreneurs and counting!”

Sari-sari stores have no doubt become fixtures in the every day lives of Filipinos. Thus, if a brand can make it to the stores, they can make it out there—and a direct connection to these sari-sari stores is precisely what Puregold has been providing the brands.

One more way that Puregold gives back to its members is through its annual Negosyo Convention, a big shopping event happening today until May 18 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Promising three days of fun and festivities, it’s intended for micro, small, and medium enterprise owners, where they can snag basic and essential commodities that come with exclusive value deals, and bulk promos offered by participating trade partners and brands like Nestlé, Coca-Cola, and Monde Nissin.

Because items at the Negosyo Convention are sold at lower-than-usual rates, many sari-sari store and food establishment members can get the most of their monthly budget for their inventory. Members of Tindahan Ni Aling Puring can accumulate cashback points and rewards from purchases, too.

This year, Puregold is commemorating significant milestones: first, they are just four doors away from reaching 500 Puregold stores, and that 2024 marks the 20th year of their TNAP program.

This year’s theme, “Asenso Tayo,” underscores their commitment to boosting the profitability and long-term viability of Filipino businesses. Brands conduct daily seminars, give away freebies, and host games while allowing them to network with eager business owners including sari-sari store operators.

The convention, which has welcomed a record-breaking number of over 12,000 TNAP members on its first day, allows Puregold to help MSMEs further widen their reach to sari-sari stores all across the country.

“The solid participation of global and local brand partners, along with the impressive turnout of Aling Puring members at our annual Sari-Sari Store Convention, reflects the trust and confidence our suppliers and members place in us,” said Puregold president Vincent Co.

The TNAP convention is open to registered and potential members looking to grow their business.
