Child star Niño Muhlach sold one of his FAMAS awards to collector and content creator Boss Toyo.
In a recent episode of Pinoy Pawnstars, Boss Toyo said that he reached out to Niño first, expressing his desire to acquire a FAMAS trophy specifically from the actor’s collection for his planned museum.
“Para lang sa kaalaman niyo, I tried to contact Sir Niño. Ako ‘yung nagsabi sa kaniya, ‘Sir baka, can I take some of your artifacts, and baka mabili ko ‘yung isa niyang FAMAS, could you bring one?’ Hindi talaga siya pumunta dito para ibenta ito at ako ‘yung nagrequest,” said Boss Toyo.
Boss Toyo further explained that Niño’s FAMAS award is one of his dream items noting how he had changed the Filipino entertainment through his movies.
“Sabi ko nga kung meron akong gustong makuha na FAMAS child actor award is kay idol Niño. Ang hirap presyuhan ng isang Niño Muhlach, priceless eh,” he continued.
“Ikaw ang barometer, ‘pag sinabing ‘child actor’, tandaan natin, wala pa akong nakitang nakadaig sayo as a child actor,” added Boss Toyo.
Boss Toyo initially offered ₱100,00 to buy Niño’s trophy but the former child actor agreed to sell one of his five Best Child Performer trophies for ₱500,000 which came with the condition that Boss Toyo would restore it and display it in his museum.
“I decided to give it to him, but big deal, kailangan alagaan niya, i-restore nya, and ilagay niya sa museum nya, dahil hindi ko na naalagaan. ‘Yun ang deal namin,” stated Niño.
Earlier this year, Boss Toyo acquired actor Jiro Manio’s Gawad Urian Best Actor Trophy for the drama movie “Magnifico” for ₱75,000.
He later revealed that someone had made offer to buy Jiro’s trophy for ₱200,000.
