Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte has complained about the alleged removal of P2 billion from the budget for his district under the 2024 national budget.
“I also would like to inform all Dabawenyos, most especially in my district, that the House leadership has taken out P2 billion from your NEP (National Expenditure Plan) budget for the district and left only a measly P500 million for Dabawenyos this year,” Duterte said in a social media post on Tuesday night.
“To all congressmen ganging up on us, do not give me that kind of BS because I will not starve to death if you take my budget away,” said Duterte, son of former president Rodrigo Duterte. He said he is sorry for his constituents over the alleged budget removal. As of press time, the House leadership has yet to respond to Duterte’s rant.
