In the realm of local automotive expertise, Miguelito “Lito” Jose stands as a seasoned veteran, witnessing the ever-evolving landscape of the thriving auto industry. As the Managing Director of Jetour Auto Philippines, Inc. (JAPI), he has surpassed formidable rivals in the local market, even when faced with the challenge of unfamiliar Chinese car brands.
During the 100 Days Celebration of JAPI in San Juan City, Jose emphasized the brand’s commitment to inspire, grow, and advance in tandem with the Filipino people. While Jetour cars have been on Philippine roads for over five years, it was only earlier this year that JAPI, jointly owned by The Gateway Group of the Goho Family and AutoSpeedyGo of the Licup Family, took over the country’s main distributorship.
The collaboration between The Gateway Group and AutoSpeedyGo, known for their extensive car distributorship network, birthed JAPI to further promote Jetour cars in the Philippines. Yves Licup leads JAPI as President, with Michael Goho as Vice President.
After an extravagant introduction of Jetour and its car lineup at a grand hotel party, where Asia & Pacific director of Chery Commercial Vehicle Co. Ltd. also made an appearance, Jose wasted no time rolling out various sales and marketing initiatives. These included the gasoline-fed Dashing, X70, X70 Plus, and the fully electric Ice Cream.
Jose expressed his optimism, revealing that over 500 Jetour cars now traverse Philippine roads, with a bold target of 50,000 Jetour vehicles within the next five years. He highlighted JAPI’s innovative approach in addressing customer needs and its commitment to deliver value.
The ‘Drive and Save Program’ continues to offer affordable down payment schemes, with an opportunity for customers to recover the amount after two years. A new initiative offers a 0% interest monthly amortization for Jetour X70 models, and the ‘Equity Match’ framework ensures customers’ down payments match their monthly amortization.
Jose acknowledged the pivotal role of Jetour’s expanding dealer network, with 26 dealerships slated to open this year. Currently, six operational dealerships grace locations in Alabang, Fairview, Pasay, Edsa Centris, Las Piñas, and Cubao. Seven more are under construction in various cities, and applications are in progress for nine additional locations.
