Caloocan to provide additional cash aid, rent relief to rice retailers affected by price cap

Rice businesses get P15,000 from national government

The City Government of Caloocan will be rolling out a P5,000 cash assistance to registered rice micro retailers and the P15,000 provided through various coordinating national agencies on Saturday at the Maypajo Public Market.
City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan declared that the additional cash grant is just the fulfillment of his earlier pledge to consumers and businesses alike during the implementation of Executive Order 39. He once again assured his constituents that the city government will provide additional relief whenever necessary.
Mayor Along likewise certified the urgent passing of a local ordinance that will relieve or waive rents to be paid by small rice businesses and provide further assistance while the MPC is in effect.
