MEDICAL MISSION. Some 200 boys undergo circumcision during an Operation Tuli organized by the Knights of Columbus Council 7178 Cathedral Parish of the Good Shepherd, Fairview, Quezon City, with Grand Knight Jerome Juanengo and Barangay Fairview chairman Jonel Quebal.

The K of C Council 7178 also partnered with Philippine CollectiveMedia Corporation and Tingog party-list, through Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Rep. Jude Acidre, as part of their community service.

Operation Tuli is an annual program of the K of C Council 7178 which aims to address the health needs of young men whose families cannot afford to send them to private clinics for medically conducted

circumcision. According to GK Juanengo, circumcision does not only mark the transition of a boy to being a man but more importantly, it is also part of good hygiene.

The operations were handled by volunteer medical professionals from UST Hospital, Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center, FEU Hospital and East Avenue Medical Center.

Said undertaking was also a joint collaboration between and among Daughters of Mary Immaculate, Int’l (DMI) and Social Action Ministry Tugon ng Pastol of the Parish of the Good Shepherd and the Brgy. Public Safety Office (BPSO) of Brgy. Fairview.

Post operation medications were also provided to all those who underwent circumcision, like vitamins, pain relievers and antibiotics from Unilab.
