Dream Chasers Jeromy Batac, Marcus Cabais, Kyler Chua, Vinci Malizon, Reyster Yton, Kim Ng, and Winston Pineda were hailed the winners of the country’s first idol survival competition, Dream Maker, on Sunday night (February 12).
The seven Dream Chasers, who received the highest public votes, were officially launched as Hori7on. Winning in ABS-CBN’s idol survival competition marks the first step for the seven Dream Chasers in fulfilling their dreams of being an idol. They are set to fly to South Korea to further hone their skills to be the next global pop group.
Jeromy emerged with the highest number of votes of 3,188,238 votes to place first among 62 dream chasers, followed by Marcus and Kyler in second and third place with 2,824,716 and 2,697,520 votes respectively.
Vinci, the chosen center of the show’s signal song, “Take My Hand,” ranked fourth with 2,447,877 votes and Reyster placed 5thand got 2,285,407 votes.
Kim, who did not experience making it to the Top 7 in the past rankings, placed 6th with 2,240,510 votes, while Winston Pineda completed the group with 2,049,832 votes.
Meanwhile, Drei Amahan, Prince Encelan, Wilson Budoy, Thad Sune, Jay-R Albino, Matt Cruz, Macky Tuason, Jom Aceron, and Josh Labing-isa were the other Dream Chasers in the finale but did not make it to the final cut.
Marcus Vinuya, a business unit head for Dream Maker, shared what will keep Hori7on busy after winning the competition. He said, “Tuloy-tuloy ang training nila rito while waiting for the visa, then they will head to Korea for further training. Eventually, they will debut within the year.”
With the success of the first collaboration project of ABS-CBN, MLD Entertainment, and Kamp Korea, CEO of MLD Entertainment Lee Hyoungjin said that viewers should watch out for the future collaborations they have lined up for them. He said, “We have a lot of projects we have planned, so please look forward to it.”
During the finale, the Dream Chasers were split into two groups and performed the original songs “Dash” by BULL$EYE and “Deja Vu” by Seo Won-jin. They also surprised the viewers with an original song, “Salamat,” to thank their fans who supported them in their journey.
The Dream Maker: The Dream Finale, which trended worldwide, featured performances of the Dream Chasers with girl group BINI, BGYO, TFN, Pinoy mentors Darren Espanto and Bailey May, and the show’s host Kim Chiu.
