Police have seized shabu and arrested eight individuals, including a high-value target, in a buy-bust operation early Tuesday morning in Taguig City.
The operation conducted by the Southern Police District – Drug Enforcement Unit and District Intelligence Unit also resulted in the dismantling of another drug den, this time situated at Purok 9 PNR Site, FTI Compound in Barangay Western Bicutan.
One of the suspects identified as Alfatha Tangurak Sumandal, alias Toto, 21, a mechanic and the maintainer of the said establishment, was the main target of the police operation.
Also arrested were Norhadz Osmeña Ali, 21; Arnold Abarasa Milgaril, 40; Fernan Torzar Rodriguez, 27; Richard Manansala, 25; Paul John Torzar Rodriguez, 22, and Ernesto Garcia Pascual, 39, all drug dependents; and Tony Uda Watamama, 50, a billiard hall worker.
Seized from the suspects were 11 plastic sachets containing 51 grams of shabu worth P346,800 and the money used in the police operation.
The suspects were brought to the SPD-DEU custodial facility for documentation and disposition. Charges of violation of Sections 5, 6 and 11 under Art II of Republic Act 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Law) will be filed against them. Joel E. Zurbano
SPD director P/Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg commended his men for their latest accomplishment dismantling another drug den in Taguig, apprehension of a high value target and for their unending commitment to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs.
“With the constant arrest of illegal drug personalities, drug traders will have less opportunity to spread their illegal activities in our area. Job well done and continue your hard work for a safer Southern Metro,” he said.
Last month, the SPD arrested five persons and raided a suspected drug den along C-6 Service Road in Barangay New Lower Bicutan being maintained by Christopher Estillore Oroyan.
Oroyan and his cohorts Mark Jacinto Mamonon, 46 and Ronaldo Ocampo Marcelino, 55, both residents of Taguig; Domingo Tabamo Mata, 49, and Felyzarda Amarillo Imson, both from Pateros, were arrested during the raid.
The police operation was also coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Seized from the suspects were three short firearms, gun magazines and ammunitions, one brown sling bag, one black eye glass case, and one brown coin purse. Also recovered were 42 grams of shabu worth P285,600 and the drug money used in the police operation.
