The government has improved the cycling infrastructure along Roxas Boulevard in Manila as part of its efforts to build 500 kilometers of bike lanes in less than a year amid the pandemic. In September 2020, the rise of cycling led the national government to allocate more than $22 million for active mobility infrastructure, translating into the largest bike lane construction program in the country’s history with almost 500 kilometers across Metro Manila, Metro Cebu and Metro Davao.
