Police arrested a big-time drug dealer who was caught with P13.6 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation Tuesday night in Makati City.
Southern Police District director P/Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspect as Aldren Mariscal, 21 years old and resident of Pasay City.
Macaraeg said joint elements of the Makati City Police—Drug Enforcement Unit and Station Investigation Section conducted the police operation at the corner of Evangelista Street and Arnaiz Avenue in Barangay Bangkal around 5:37 p.m.
Recovered from suspect were one plastic pack containing two kilos of shabu, two eco bags, and P2,000 cash and 898 pieces of P1,000 bill boodle money used in the entrapment operation.
The suspect is now detained at the custodial facility of Makati City Police Station and will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act before the city prosecutors office.
Mariscal’s arrest came more than a week following police operation in Taguig City where the authorities seized P61 million worth of shabu.
The police also arrested in the said operation three suspected drug dealers – Christian Ely Caliwag Desiderio, 19, and Jericho Rayos Torres, 19, both residents of Barangay Wawa, Taguig; and John Andree Galura Santos, 22, of Kalayaan Street, Barangay Ususan, also in
Taguig.
The suspects are now detained and will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Two months ago, police also arrested in Taguig City two other drug dealers and seized eight kilos of shabu worth P54.5 million. Arrested
in the entrapment operation were Marisa Omar Asi, 34, and Muslimin Taudil Kamid, 32, both residents of Barangay Maharlika, Taguig City.
All suspects are believed to be members of a drug syndicate operating in south Metro Manila and neighboring provinces.
Macaraeg commended his men for their accomplishment.
“I am elated by the perseverance shown by our policemen in bringing notable accomplishments every day. We are vowed to our mandate on intensified Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Campaign for a safer southern metro,” he said.
The National Police vowed that the government’s crackdown on drug dealing in the country will continue with the goal of catching traffickers.
