The rector of the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene (Quiapo Church), Hernando ‘Ding’ Coronel, leads the drive-thru blessing of replica images of the Black Nazarene right outside the church at Plaza Miranda on December 28, 2021. The blessing always takes place before the annual processional activity or ‘Traslacion’ that will be suspended for the second year in a row because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
