Major airlines have reminded travelers to be at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at least two hours before departure for domestic flights and three hours for international flights in anticipation of the increase in air traffic during the holidays.
Cebu Pacific Air and its sister airline CebGo urged all passengers to allot ample time for security inspection, immigration screening, check-in, bag drop, and other pre-departure requirements.
It also reminded those traveling to Australia (Sydney and Melbourne) to earmark additional time for more stringent security screening.
“We advise all passengers to monitor flight information and if possible, immediately proceed to their respective boarding gates. Passengers should be at the gate at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time of departure, except for flights departing Dubai (45 minutes),” the CEB management said.
Passengers were also reminded to pack their luggage properly and ensure checked-in baggage have proper identification labels with name, address and contact details.
While weighing scales at the check-in counters are calibrated regularly to ensure accuracy, passengers were advised to check the weight of their bags prior to heading for the airport to avoid the hassle of repacking.
Meanwhile, Philippine Airlines encouraged passengers to check in as early as five hours before their flight to San Francisco to ensure adequate lead time in the processing of luggage.
“An early arrival at the San Francisco Airport is deemed necessary due to current baggage handling conveyor system issues at the passenger terminal,” PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said.
PAL also reminded its passengers of the Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia’s requirement for an International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV) book as proof of Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV)
vaccination at NAIA Terminal 2.
For passengers who have not received polio vaccination (IPV), the vaccine will be administered at the Port Health Clinic in Denpasar and Jakarta for $13. Failure to comply will result in recommendation for deportation by the Indonesian Immigration Department.
