The Social Security System has announced the release of the 13th month pension of those who have availed of the 18th-month advance pension starting Tuesday.
President and chief executive officer Aurora Ignacio said the releases to be given to over 2.83 million SSS pensioners are part of the P12.71 billion 13th month pension disbursements in 2019.
“As of 5 December, 45 of our 62 partner banks have already credited the 13th month pension to the bank accounts of our regular pensioners wherein the earliest recorded was on November 18,” she said in an official statement.
“Today, we are expecting the remaining 17 banks to credit the said benefit,” she added.
The 13th month pensions of over 14,000 pensioners paid through-checks were released since last Nov. 26.
Ignacio said they have already notified the Postmaster General to fasttrack the release of the pension.
“We are happy to provide an additional financial resource during this holiday season to our pensioners who during their working years have contributed to the success of the pension fund,” she said.
