Members of the EcoWaste Coalition gather at the Caloocan City People’s Park to call attention to the right of all Filipino children to play in a lead-safe environment as the UN-backed International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week is observed from Oct. 20 to 26. The group urges local government units to replace lead-coated play equipment in public parks, and to follow the good example of Caloocan City, which recently inaugurated a lead-safe playground for the city’s kids.
