Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. said government authorities should protect foreigners, including the Chinese nationals, as he warned of dire consequences.
Locsin on Tuesday urged government authorities to make sure that those behind the death of a 27-year-old Chinese national in Las Piñas City last Friday is brought to justice, saying failure to do so will have dire consequences for Filipinos living and working in China.
“It makes no difference who the killers, killing happened here. Our obligation is to bring them to justice pronto,” Locsin said in his Twitter account.
Locsin was referring to the death of Chinese national Yang Kang who fell to his death from the sixth floor of his office building in Pamplona Dos, Las Piñas City.
A security officer later found Kang’s body handcuffed and sprawled across the street.
Locsin also issued a broadside at the opposition saying: “Unless opposition wants to thanks Chinese triads. Triads as generous as drug cartels-a hint to administration critics. Deep pockets to line deep convictions.”
The country’s top diplomat said he agreed with the statement issued by the Chinese Embassy in Manila Monday night urging the Philippine government to protect the rights of its citizens in the country.
“One hundred percent agree with China on this one. We go down this road of letting Chinese nationals be hurt, our people in China will pay. Send carping yellows to China when the anti-Filipino riots start to take the sacrificial place of our people working at good jobs there,” he said. Rey
