More viewers tune in to ABS-CBN SONA coverage

Filipinos tuned in to ABS-CBN for the latest reports, analysis, and airing of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s fourth “State of the Nation Address” (SONA) on Monday, showing their trust for the country’s largest news organization.

SONA 2019: The ABS-CBN Special Coverage got a national TV rating of 18 percent based on data from Kantar Media, which covers both urban and rural areas in the country. It surpassed the ratings of its competing programs that day, including the special coverage of GMA7 and TV5, which garnered 10.2 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively.

For breaking news and SONA features in the morning, viewers also chose to watch Umagang Kay Ganda, which got a national TV rating of 5.4 percent compared to 4.4 percent of Unang Hirit. After the President’s speech, ABS-CBN News continued to deliver reports from Batasang Pambansa on TV Patrol, which dominated its timeslot with a national TV rating of 31 percent compared to 19.9 percent of 24 Oras and 1.2 percent of Aksyon.

Apart from ABS-CBN, people were also able to follow the stories about SONA 2019 on ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel on cable, DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 on radio, DZMM TeleRadyo on cable and ABS-CBN TVplus, and online via news.abs-cbn.com, iWant.ph, and the official social media accounts of ABS-CBN News.
