Actor, model, and foodie Daniel Matsunaga is going back to his roots and is creating his own franchise of popular and well-loved Brazilian food in partnership with Renegade Branding Concepts, a new Philippine startup that creates franchising and licensing concepts curated by celebrities and digital personalities in the fields of beauty, fashion, health and wellness, home interiors and food and beverage.
Daniel, who is Japanese-Brazilian, is sharing his love of Brazilian food with Filipinos through new food cart businesses that will sell churrasco, pao de quiejo (cheese bread), and pasteis (pastel).
On top of these Brazilian treats, Daniel developed his own line of potato bar that will serve fries, curly fries and potato chips served in unique dips and sauces.
“I have always been a foodie and I am so excited for everyone to taste these delicious food that I grew up eating,” Daniel shares.
“This new food business is really close to my heart because the recipes are developed by my family,” he adds.
Renegade Branding Concepts is the brainchild of Antonio, who has partnered with some of the biggest brands in the world including Versace Home, Armani Casa, yoo by Philippine Starck, Missoni, and Trump Organization. He has also worked with influential global celebrities like the late architect Zaha Hadid, I.M.Pei, Lenny Kravitz, British fashion designedOzwald Boateng, and Paris Hilton, to name a few.
Renegade Branding Concepts, is a subsidiary of Resident Holdings, a conglomerate with nearly 20 businesses in the fields of beauty, fashion, real estate, franchising, e-commerce, e-services, fintech, and educational-tech, among others.
“We are so happy to partner with Daniel for his own food business. We developed these concepts together with the hope of serving good food to everyone,” says Renegade Branding Concepts President and CEO Robbie Antonio.
When asked if he would be interested in launching other business concepts in the future, Daniel replied enthusiastically.
“Definitely. I love acting and modeling but I am also a foodie at heart. I would love to develop more food businesses in the future, that’s why I am so excited for the launch of these Brazilian food kiosks. We have already sold some licenses and the kiosks will be launched to the public in a few months’ time,” he said.
For his part, Antonio hopes that the public embraces the food concepts nationwide.
