A project by GMA New Media’s subsidiary, Digify, Inc., with SM Supermalls bagged Gold at the 2019 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
The leading mall chain in the country received a Gold Award for #SMoments in a Click: How Customer Centricity Gave a Rebirth to the SM Supermalls Corporate Website, a revamp effort that Digify was tasked to lead and implement in order to strengthen SM Supermalls’ official website. By making patrons the focus of web content, design and usability features, average monthly page views grew by 380% or 1.6M since the site was launched in December 2017. The reworked site also generated approximately 54,000 new website registrations.
Of the win, Jonjon San Agustin, SM Supermalls Senior Vice President for Marketing said, “We take pride in co-creating the revamped SMSUPERMALLS.COM with our shoppers and we share this recognition with them.”
“Our website boldly hinged its new look, content, and interactivity on the results of an online website improvement survey participated by over 11,000 shoppers,” said San Agustin. “Indeed, listening and responding to our customers’ needs were key in innovating our corporate platform from a laid back advertising tool into an interactive, fun digital experience that bannered Filipino netizens’ most valued ‘SM moments’ in just a click.”
The Digify-SM Supermalls partnership began in late 2015. The notable project that earned a Stevie recognition is just one of the initiatives that Digify and SM Supermalls have pursued with the goal of engaging customers in new and innovative ways using digital media. In 2017, the Stevie Awards also recognized Digify’s work on the SM Supermalls Mobile App ‘Download & Win’ for Innovation in General Information and General Utility Apps, that earned a Gold Award.
Each year, the award-giving body honors the achievements of companies and business people worldwide. Besting a pool of over 900 nominations, Digify’s output for SM Supermalls will be awarded on May 31 in Singapore.
