If there is one thing that can be said about F1 Hotel’s Executive Chef Angelo “Chubby” Timban, it is that he is unafraid to experiment in creating dishes, and that he does not experiment just for the sake of experimenting.
He does so intelligently, as evidenced by what became an all-time favorite at the hotel’s F All-Day Dining restaurant-Mexinigang, an innovative take on the Filipino classic sinigang with a Mexican twist.
Chef Chubby recently rolled out three new ala carte dishes: the “Chairman’s Burger,” which is the hotel owner’s personal favorite; Classico Rogu Pasta; and the three-way lechon.
The burger is made with US-grade homemade patty, topped with salsa sauce and Swiss cheese, and served with Sloppy Joe fries on the side.
The pasta features a delicious twist with Filipino caldereta sauce and black croutons made with squid ink.
The three-way lechon, on the other hand, will have guests hankering for more of the carefully steamed and then roasted pork, which is deep-fried before serving and paired with bagoong rice. The bagoong rice itself is ridiculously delicious that I had two helpings.
F1 Hotel likewise brings back its Barbeque Nights at Canary Lounge for that picturesque city-glamping vibe.
Available every Friday for the entire month of May from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at P788 per head, the sizzling barbeque spread is complemented by a live acoustic performance of crowd favorite Jet Barrun. Friends looking for a nightcap can order a Colossal Mojito— good for up to four persons—for only P983 per glass.
And if you are staying for the weekend at the heart of BGC, enjoy Outdoor Movie Nights every Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
