Both the 50 and Lagoon 42 are part of Lagoon’s vast collection of popular sailing yachts. As the country’s premiere yachting authority, Europa Yachtsrepresents the largest fleet of luxury sailboats, trawlers, catamarans, cruisers and speed boats in the Philippines.

“We’re happy to know that the Lagoon boats have earned recognition from some of the most respected award-givingbodies around the world,” said Richard Sarinas, Director of Marketing of Europa Yachts. “Lagoon is the number one catamaran manufacturer in the world for a reason, and Europa Yachts is honored and delighted that we can lend their brand of expertise and innovation to the Philippines.”

Released only in 2017, the Lagoon 50 has already won a number of major awards. This 14.75-meter catamaran sports two 137 US gallon fuel tanks and a 57-HP engine. It features an improved rigging and hull design, with a spacious cockpit with stern skirts for easy access. The flybridge has two access points, while the helm has excellent views for navigation, as well as a modular recreation area in the back. Meanwhile, the interiors feature luxurious appointments, including customizable wood finishes and panoramic windows that provide magnificent 360-degree views.

On the other hand, the Lagoon 42 is a sleek boat with a mast located further toward the aft and a self-tacking jib for excellent maneuverability and power under sail. It has a 79 US gallon fuel capacity and two 45-HP engines, which make for a fast and capable 12.80-meter catamaran. The interiors are similarly designed with ergonomics and comfort in mind, with elegant curves and an airy look and feel throughout the entire level.

The inaugural British Yachting Awards was launchedonly last December 2018, becoming the venue where readers of leading British sailing magazines Yachts & Yachting and Sailing Today cast their votes for the best of the best in various yacht categories. Apart from boats, the British Yachting Awards also recognize sailors, sailing events, sailing destinations, and sailing clothing and equipment. On the other hand, SAIL Magazine’s annual Best Boats Awards celebrate the diversity and excellence of various watercrafts from all over the world. They announce a total of ten major award winners and one honorable mention each year.

Finally, the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers or ARC is an annual transatlantic race, which held its inaugural race in 1986. The race begins around the end of November and ends before Christmas day each year, with the starting point being at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the finish line at Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia, in the Caribbean. Out of the 33 boats that participated in the 2018 race, 19 were Lagoon catamarans, including the winning Lagoon 42.
