Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—Crime incidents in this province have decreased during the fourth quarter of 2018, police officials here said.
Police Senior Supt. Jeremias Aglugub, Philippine National Police provincial director, said Nueva Vizcaya only posted 694 crime incidents compared to 1,126 for the same period in 2017.
“Physical injury, motornapping, and rape are the most prevalent index crimes. On non-index crimes, reckless imprudence cases and others decreased. Violation of special laws however increased,” he said.
Aglugub attributed the drop in vehicular accidents to the conduct of two Road Safety Summits in the province during the third quarter last year.
“Through the Road Safety Summits, our riding public were further empowered on traffic laws and regulations that provide protection for them,” he said.
For various crimes, Aglugub said physical injury incidents registered the highest with 43, followed by rape with 25, motornapping with 20, theft with 18, robbery with 14, murder with 8 and homicide with 4.
The prevailing analysis and forecast show that the province is generally peaceful and enjoying a good atmosphere, the provincial police chief said.
“Crime situation does not totally affect the socio-economic development of the province,” he added.
