As part of her requirements for her Master of Fine Arts program, UP College of Fine Arts student Jelai Averilla-Dabu mounts an exhibit depicting the diaspora of Filipino workers abroad.
Entitled “Nangalap-Nakalat,” the solo show features an art installation made of a huge archive of overseas Filipino workers’ mementos like souvenirs, balikbayan boxes, and letters, among others.

Dabu’s installation symbolizes and characterizes OFWs’ circumstances and living conditions.
The exhibit runs until Oct. 20 at the UP Fine Arts Gallery in Diliman, Quezon City.
