The Globe Philippine Volcanoes are now in Korea for the second leg of the 2018 Asia Rugby Sevens Series.
They just returned from a Top 4 finish in Hong Kong two weeks ago.
This time, the Volcanoes are looking forward to climbing higher in the rankings.
Experienced prospects will be reinforcing the team. They are Jonico Ater Hardwick, Ned Plarizan Stephenson, Edlen Cortez Hernandez and Sean Celada Lynch.
“We had a good start to the last tournament. We want to replicate that performance and show consistency,” said team skipper Christopher Bird.
Bird said the team members are confident with how their training has been going in the last week in Manila.
“It’s now time to execute and attain the results we aim for,” said Bird.
The Volcanoes will have a tough challenge as they did in Hong Kong.
The Philippines have drawn Japan (1st seed), China (5th seed) and Malaysia (8th seed) in Pool A of the competition.
The Volcanoes want to beat both China and Malaysia to progress to the final rounds.
