Typhoon “Paeng”—the 16th weather disturbance to hit the country this year–has slightly weakened on Wednesday as it continued to move north at a slow pace.
In its 4 am forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Paeng” was last observed at 725 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes. Its wind intensity was 170 kilometers per hour near the center and its gustiness up to 210 kph.
It may bring light to at times moderate rain over northern Luzon and is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Sept. 29.
The weather bureau said Metro Manila and the rest of the country would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
