N. Vizcaya reports P25.3m worth of damages to roads and bridges

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya”•Typhoon ‘Ompong’ has left at least P25.3 million worth of damages to provincial roads and bridges in the province, officials here said.

Citing a final report, Governor Carlos Padilla said the damaged roads and bridges in the province’s southern part are the Oyawe Overflow bridge in barangay Kayapa Proper, Kayapa Proper Bailey Bridge, Welness Center Building in Lt. Tidang Memorial Hospital;

Nueva Vizcaya-Benguet Junction,  rehabilitation of Lt. Tidang Memorial Hospital, Baliling-Sinapaoan road, Balete-Buyasyas road, all of Kayapa and St. Fe towns; Oyao-Ganao road, Makatbeng-Kimbutan road and  Ganao-Biruk road in Dupax del Sur town; Batu-Sto. Domingo road and rehabilitation of the Bambang-Salinas-San Fabian-Pingkian road in Bambang town.

The damaged roads in the northern part of the province are the Ibung-Nagbitin-Calao road in Villaverde town, Calaocan-Diffuncianan road in Quezon town, Bascara-Singian-Aggub road in Solano town and the Nagsabaran-Decabacan-Ampakleng road in Diadi town.

“The damages were done by rampaging flood waters and landslides brought by typhoon ‘Ompong’ over the weekend. These are now the focus of our rehabilitation efforts with the concerned barangay and municipal local government units,” Padilla said.

The road and bridge projects suffered washed-out, collapsed, and slipped portions.

Padilla said personnel from the Provincial Engineering Office have been mobilized to conduct survevs on the damaged infrastructures to hasten their repair and rehabilitation through the provincial government.
