Tropical Depression “Karding” will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, expected to spawn monsoon rains in Northern Luzon although it would not make a landfall, weathermen said Tuesday.
As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, “Karding” was estimated at 1,215 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 55 kms per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 65 km/h.
It was moving west at 10 km/h.
Based on the weather satellite model, a low-pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility or at the West Philippine Sea had a slim chance to develop into another tropical depression.
The Philippines, an archipelagic country, averages 21 typhoons each year.
