Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque says that the President claims ‘Hugpong’ as his party-list in Davao.
In an answer to the media yesterday regarding the party called ‘Hukbong ng Pagbabago,’ Roque said that President Rodrigo Duterte claims ‘Hukbong’ as his party-list in Davao.
“The President has said, kasi iyong ‘Hugpong’ iyan amin talaga iyan. Iyan iyong local party niya sa Davao City,” Roque said.
The party-list is being led by the President’s daughter and current Davao City mayor, Sara Duterte-Carpio. The political group has been organized as a regional political party and has been accredited by the Commission on Elections.
In a text message, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said that it was approved since it meets all requirements set by the law.
