Iconic Brazilian footwear label Melissa, known for its fruity smelling jelly shoes, launches for the first time its local campaign in the Philippines, 11 years since it was introduced here by Istila Companhia Inc.

This year, the brand seeks to strengthen its presence in the Philippine market through its #MeInMelissa campaign.

“The campaign was inspired by current and past collections where Melissa promoted self-expression through different styles,” shares marketing manager Hazel Imperial-Tan.

The online campaign will showcase a number of prominent Style Mavens who will highlight the brand’s latest collection, Open Vibes, which invites Filipinas to portray themselves as confident women.

Brazilian footwear brand Melissa launches #MeInMelissa, a campaign that features women who freely express themselves and excel in their chose careers. The 2018 #MeInMelissa Style Mavens include (from left) Rina Santos, Shaira Luna, Janeena Chan, Thea de Rivera, and Tessie Singson

Imperial-Tan said they tapped individuals with unique personalities for the brand’s first local campaign.

“Our Style Mavens are women who are not only good at expressing themselves through their personal fashion style but have also excelled in their chosen fields by having incredible careers!” enthused Imperial-Tan.

The 2018 #MeInMelissa Style Mavens consist of photographer Shaira Luna, fashion bloggers Rina Santos and Tessie Singson, entrepreneur Thea de Rivera, and host Janeena Chan.

With the #MeInMelissa Open Vibes campaign, Melissa seeks to empower women through its line of a fashion-forward, a sustainable, and playful collection of shoes that can seamlessly take any woman through any occasion—whether it’s the office, on-the-go, or a party.

“It’s about a new consciousness and mindfulness—attention to the self and the outside world that is more personal,” explained assistant brand manager Bridgette Jose. “Styles from this collection are more laid-back and carefree as if inviting one to be true to herself.”
