Foodpanda, the in-demand online food delivery service in the Philippines, has landed in Mindanao. The delivery service’s fleet of pink riders started delivering food from over 40 restaurant partners directly to customers’ doors in Davao City in May 2018.
With the foodpanda app, everyone can order the food from dozens of restaurants. The people of Davao can enjoy the same service and convenience as foodpanda now operates in the city.
“We are very excited to add Davao to the list of cities where we provide our delivery service,” said foodpanda Philippines chief executive Iacopo Rovere.
“Davao is one of the cities with great potential for food delivery, especially with its very colorful and tasty food culture. As always, we intend to give the best experience in the food delivery industry to our customers – we look forward to seeing eager and encouraging feedback from current and potential partner restaurants and customers,” said Rovere.
Founded in May 2012 with its headquarters in Berlin, Germany, foodpanda is now operating in more than 190 cities across five continents and has more than 25,000 partner restaurants onboard worldwide. In the Philippines, foodpanda started its business in 2014 and has been adding thousands of partner restaurants and quarter of a million active users each year.
As foodpanda continues to gain ground in the Philippines, competition is also getting tougher every month. However, Rovere said fooodpanda Philippines would exert all efforts to stay present and on-topic to retain its market share dominance.
“After the city expansion, we’ll expect and continue to maintain our dominance in the market by achieving a 500-percent growth by end of the year and adding more restaurants on board,” he said.
Foodpanda’s delivery service started in Davao on May 16. The foodpanda app powered by the tech giants, Delivery Hero and Rocket Internet, is available on the App Store and Google Play Store for free.
Through the foodpanda website or via the new iOS and Android apps, customers can enter their address and view a curated list of restaurants serving their neighborhood. Once they have found their meal of choice, they can place an order in the comfort of their home or office, paying online or cash on delivery through foodpanda’s secure platform.
The order is then carefully prepared by the restaurant, picked up by the foodpanda rider and delivered straight to their doorstep.
