GENERAL TRIAS CITY—At least 612 bets for Village Chiefs, kagawads, Sangguniang Kabataan chairs and SK kagawads attended the ‘Peace Covenant Signing organized by Local DILG, Comelec and PNP held at two separate churches in the locality Monday, April 30, 2018, four days before the start of campaign proper of all candidates here.
Local DILG head Aladin Calanog, Local Election Officer Armando Vencilao and GenTri Police led by Officer in Charge Superintendent Gil Torralba spearheaded the Covenant Signing for Peaceful Barangay Election in May 14, 2018 held at historic St. Francis of Assisi parish in Barangay Bagumbayan and at Our Lady of Guadalupe in upland Barangay Javalera. (respectively).
Some 377 candidates from town proper swears and signed in front of Local Chief Executive Antonio ‘Ony’ Ferrer and Congressman Luis ‘Jon Jon’ Ferrer IV for the peaceful Barangay and SK elections here.
Ferrer Brothers and Atty. Vencilao and DILG also witness the Covenant Signing at Upland Barangay Javalera for the upland part Barangay of the locality.
Out of 33 Barangays, 26 Village Chiefs here are running for reelection and 9 of them are running unopposed. While the 33 SK Chairs candidates has a fresh mandate on July 2018.
About 231 slots for Barangay Councilors seat are up for grabs for the 33 component barangays of the city and 264 SK Kagawads for the eight-man council for the 33 SK Barangay of the city.
