A TROPICAL storm named “Caloy” entered the Philippine area of responsibility around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, the weather bureau said.
The storm was packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph, and was forecast to move north at 15 kph.

The center of the storm was estimated 1,045 kilometers east of Surigao City in Surigao del Norte as of 5 p.m.
The weather bureau said “Caloy” will not make landfall and is forecast to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday evening or Friday morning.
