CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga—An estimated 5,560 policemen in Central Luzon were mobilized to ensure the safety and protection of all travelers and tourists during the observance of Holy Week and summer vacation in the region.

Police Supt. Fe G. Grenas, chief Information officer of Police Regional Office 3, said the total mobilization of the police force in the region will stretch on March 23 up to June 13.

Grenas said the deployment was made by Regional Police Chief Amador V. Corpus to prevent any untoward incidents during the Holy Week and summer vacation, when people are starting to go to religious places and recreational places like beaches in the region.

In his directive, Corpus ordered all provincial, city and municipal police officers to man all main roads and thoroughfares, bus terminals, seaports and airports including vital installations in the seven provinces against terrorists and criminals that may take advantage of the situation in their respective areas of responsibility.

The order also includes the establishments of foot/mobile patrols and police assistance desks in every municipality of the region, Grenas said.

“You must remain on your toes to implement the public safety measures for the entire season”, Corpus said.

He also urges the provincial directors, city municipal chiefs of police to coordinate with the local government units and non-government organizations for the successful implementation of the safety measures in their areas.
