Doctors see a huge drop in the number of people seeking immunization.
They say, this is the result of the scare brought by the controversy surrounding the anti-dengue vaccine Dengvaxia.
Doctor Lulu Bravo, who is a pediatrician for infectious and tropical diseases at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Medicine, notes a decrease of about 50 percent in the number of patients seeking treatment through vaccines.
Former Health Secretary Esperanza Cabral made the same observation.
She say, patients who are advised to get shots of vaccines for other diseases like measles are very apprehensive.
Cabral is urging health officials to conduct a study on risks and benefits of vaccines.
The medical practitioners made these remarks at a forum at Club Filipino in San Juan City.
Doctors from UP-Philippine General Hospital (PGH) have yet to reveal the outcome of their investigation on children who were given Dengvaxia vaccine.
