THE 4th Red Kings Year-Opener Chess Individual Tournament gets going on Jan. 28 at the Tiendesitas Mall, Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City.
Organizer Fide Master “Elo” Mariano III said tournament format is a seven-round Swiss System, with a rate of play of 20 minutes, plus a three-second time delay. It is sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines through the En Passant Chess Association and backed up by Team Henry Go Jr., Sales Director Samivin V. Delos Santos of SM Development Corporation and Ortigas and Company.
Participants may compete in the Open section and under-12 kiddies’ categories.
Registration fee is P250 for kiddies and P350 for the Open category.
Participants must present valid identification card (government issued ID, school ID), while in the kiddies’ division, students must present school ID and their birth certificate.
