THE oil suppliers rolled back pump prices by P0.30 per liter of diesel and P0.30 per liter of kerosene effective Tuesday but left gasoline prices unchanged.

“Petron will implement the following price rollbacks effective 6 a.m. tomorrow, Dec. 5: P0.30 per liter of diesel and P0.30 per liter of kerosene,” Petron Corp. said in its advisory.

Petron aside, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Eastern Petroleum Philippines, Seaoil Philippines and PTT Philippines also cut pump prices.

On Nov. 28, the oil suppliers raised pump prices by P0.35 per liter of diesel and P0.25 per liter of kerosene but left gasoline prices unchanged.

The Energy Department recently amended the Retail Rules for the downstream oil industry and issued the Code of Safety Practices for LPG Refilling Plants to protect the public from dishonest traders of petroleum products.

Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi said his department also improved the standards for bio-diesel blends for both automotive and industrial diesel oil, incorporating the Euro IV-Philippine grade that lowers sulfur content for cleaner emissions.
