FLAG carrier Philippine Airlines announced on Saturday it had offered 1,000 seats for only P1 (one peso) each on the routes Manila-Cagayan, Cebu-Cagayan and Davao-Cagayan for travel until Dec. 14, 2017.

PAL external communications chief and spokesperson Ma. Cielo Villaluna said the airline came up with the offer to support the government in its thrust to rebuild Marawi and to help bring the displaced residents closer to home.

But the selling period for “Rebuild Marawi (Piso) Fares” is only on Oct. 28 and clients can only avail themselves of  the promo at the PAL official website www.philippineairlines.com.

Villaluna said “PAL’s love for Marawi continues via drop down fares, as follows: Manila-Cagayan for P988; Cebu-Cagayan for P788 and Davao-Cagayan for P688.

These fares are available from Oct. 29 up to Nov. 10, with travel dates Oct.  29 to Dec. 14 this year.

These fares, she added, will be available in PAL ticketing offices, Reservations 855-8888 and via www.philippineairlines.com. and are exclusive of government taxes, fees, ticketing service charge and surcharges.

Tickets are non-refundable and any rebooking shall be subjected to the appropriate fees and charges. The special fares include: 7-kilogram hand-carried baggage, 10-kg free baggage allowance.

The airline is likewise offering free airlift of critical supplies and relief goods for the rebuilding of Marawi City.

PAL is flying donations to Cagayan de Oro, for transport by land to Marawi City, through accredited government agencies, SEC-registered foundations, NGOs, non-profit, charitable, civic and religious organizations.

The program, which covers airlifting of donations within the Philippines only, is flying goods on space availability basis.

Priority goods are urgently needed items such as medicines, ready-to-eat halal processed foods and products, mats and blankets, water purification tablets and equipment, hygiene supplies such as baby diapers and other commodities which are not readily sourced in the affected areas.

Donors may send an e-mail to the PAL Foundation at palfoundation@pal.com.ph indicating the following details—name and contact details of donors/organizations, recipient or consignee, contents and estimate cost of donation, weight, etc.

They will be given instructions on the schedule of shipment.

PAL chairman and chief executive officer Lucio Tan has launched a series of corporate social responsibility initiatives since the outbreak of war in Marawi.

The taipan had offered a 40-kilogram baggage allowance to all state forces traveling on all domestic routes on “official or personal capacity” until Dec. 31.

A 20-percent discount is also available for all government troops on regular domestic fare brands, excluding budget economy.
