PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has appointed a controversial online Duterte defender and dermatologist as undersecretary and spokesperson to the Presidential Communications Operations Office.
In a text message to reporters, Department of Social Welfare and Development officer-in-charge Emmanuel Leyco confirmed that Dr. Lorraine Badoy, an assistant secretary in his department, got appointed to the Palace Communications office under Communications Secretary Martin Andanar.
Leyco said Badoy was expected to begin her new job at the PCOO by next month
“Asec Badoy has informed me as OIC-Secretary at DSWD of this development earlier and is now in the process of completing and turning over her responsibilities which is [sic] expected to last until the end of the month,” Leyco said.
“I thank Asec Badoy for her contributions to DSWD and I am confident that she will be able to bring her effectiveness as a communicator to her new assignment as Usec at PCOO,” he added.
Badoy is the second online personality tapped by the PCOO to be one of its top officials after starlet-turned-blogger Esther Margaux “Mocha” Uson , who was appointed assistant secretary for social media last May.
