There’s an adage that goes, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” And it holds true especially in entertainment industry where most celebrity kids follow in their parents’ footsteps. Take Cassandra and Maverick Legaspi for example.
The twins of Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi have literally grown up right before the public eyes being brand endorsers and commercial models since they were little toddlers. Now at 16, these young achievers are expected to be doing more than TVCs and promotions as they started aappearing in numerous TV shows. Does it mean they’re already bound to take the showbiz route?
Much like her parents, Cassy seem to have caught the showbiz bug and sees herself being showbiz in the very near future. For her bedimpled twin, however, it’s the other way around, he doesn’t see himself doing something more than TV commercials.
“I’m just going with the flow right now. I think I can [be like my parents who are actors]. Right now we do TV guestings, probably I’ll do a teleserye in the future but I still don’t know. I’m just enjoying what we’re doing right now,” Cassey told the press when they, along with their parents, were launched as the new brand ambassadors of CitiDrug pharmacy.
The teenager added that if she wouldn’t end up being an actress, she might still do something similar to what her parents are known for.
“Perhaps, a hosting job. I like doing that,” Cassy confidently beamed.
As for Mavy, school is his top priority. “Right now I really don’t know if I’d go fulltime in showbiz but there’s one thing I am certain about, I want to finish school first and then go to college.”
Their mother agreed that as of now the twins are focused on their studies and she thinks “it’s better that way.” She revealed that they have been receiving offers for the twins to be part of a television series but they’re reluctant to give affirmative answer since they believe that their children are not yet ready for the demanding schedule of showbiz.
“I’m not sure kung kakayanin ko yung intriga especially on social media. Baka mapaaway ako. I think we just need to pray and we need talk as a family if ever we decide to let the kids go fulltime in showbiz,” Carmina related.
Apart from being achievers in school, the Legaspi twins also excel in sport. Mavy for instance is good at basketball, he was even awarded Most Valuable Player in his school early this year. He also plays tennis, football, and volleyball.
Just like her brother, Cassey also plays basketball and volleyball. And sometimes, she bonds with her dad during boxing classes while learning self-defense. As a family, they go to the gym three times a week.
As brand endorsers, the fraternal twins are glad that their family is entrusted, yet again, with another project, this time to promote CitiDrug, which currently operates 60 outlets nationwide.
“We couldn’t be any happier for this opportunity. We are just thankful that a lot of companies choose our family to endorse their products and services,” the twins concluded.
