The Food and Drug Administration will be holding its 1st Regulatory and Advocacy Fair on August 17 to 18 at the Philippine International Convention Center coinciding with its 54th Anniversary.

FDA Director General Nela Charade Puno said the fair would feature booths displaying the profile of stakeholders in the food, drug, cosmetics and medical devices industries.

“We invite the public to visit the fair which will also showcase high impact activities of partner government agencies in coordination with FDA, such as the regulatory enforcement  initiatives of its Regulatory Enforcement Unit with the Philippine National Police.

The fair aims to promote awareness on FDA mandates and the roles of its stakeholders and government partner agencies in the protection of public health by ensuring the safety of food, drugs, cosmetics and medical devices being used by the Filipino public,

Puno said the fair was part of FDA’s advocacy efforts to engage the general public and capture stakeholders to foster a dynamic regulatory cooperation.

FDA stakeholder industry associations will showcase their advocacy activities and   best practices, benefits of compliance to FDA rules and regulations, benefits of joining professional organizations in regulatory affairs, success stories in regulations and quality management programs, among others.

The public could also  verify the  status of their applications processed online. The status of authorizations applied for on-line could be verified during the PICC event.

Aside from FDA and industry stakeholder associations, the initial lineup of FDA partner government entities joining the fair include the Department of Health, Philippine National Police, Food and Nutrition Research Institute, the Department of Trade and Industry and The Department of Agriculture.
