An opposition lawmaker has urged President Rodrigo Duterte to issue a full disclosure on the P8.4 trillion worth of new infrastructure projects for implementation in the next five years during his second State of the-Nation Address on July 24.
Buhay Rep. Joselito Atienza said the President push for “The Golden Age of Infrastructure” is very laudable but stressed the need for transparency on the infrastructure projects in the pipeline.
“We would encourage the President to unwrap the full details of the P8.4 trillion worth of new infrastructure projects that his administration intends to build in the next 60 months,” he said.
“No President has ever invested that kind of money in infrastructure alone in such a short span. The huge funding has to come from somewhere,” Atienza added.
He said Duterte must reveal where the funds would come from to finance the projects.
“There are actually so many big developments being wished for everywhere. We are not sure anymore if this or that particular project is just being kicked around, or will actually be carried out,” he said.
