Cebu Pacific said it dominated the Manila-to-Sydney route with a market share of 42 percent in the first quarter of the year.
Data from the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics of Australia showed that Cebu Pacific carried over 43,512 passengers, representing a 42-percent passenger market share on the Manila-Sydney route, the highest among the three carriers covering this route.
The BITRE report noted that passenger traffic between Manila and Sydney from January to March 2017 totaled 104,446, up seven percent year-on-year.
The growth in passenger traffic was dominated by Cebu Pacific, which carried 16 percent more passengers from the 37,640 reported in the first quarter of 2016.
Load factor for Cebu Pacific for the Manila-Sydney route was at an average 78 percent in the first three months of 2017.
