QUEZON, Nueva Vizcaya—At least 135 villagers here recently completed their respective levels of study through the Alternative Learning System offered by the FCF Minerals Corp. and the Department of Education.

Agnes Rosales, Community Relations Office head of the FCF Minerals, said 41 of the 135 ALS graduates finished the Accreditation and Equivalency Program, 58 hurdled the Basic Literacy Program, and 36 more completed the E-Learning Program, an innovation introduced by the FCF-ALS Program.

“The graduates were inspired by the testimonies of the invited guest speakers who were also beneficiaries of the ALS program,” she said.

Rosales said the graduation program, which was held at the barangay Multi-Purpose Hall was witnessed by Ian Moller, FCF country manager, DepEd officials and Runruno barangay captain John Babli-ing and FCF Community Relations Office staff.

ALS is a laddered, modular non-formal education for dropouts of elementary and secondary schools, out of school youth, non-readers and senior citizens.

The mining firm continues to support the program because of its impact on community development and progress, Rosales said.
