Star Tollway Corp., the operator of the 42-kilometer Star Tollway expressway in the Batangas, participated in the recent Port Management Advisory Council meeting to discuss pressing traffic problems in the province, especially in cities and towns now experiencing road congestion. Among the solutions presented include the rerouting of trucks and buses to divert them from roads that are being constructed or undergoing repair and improvement. A traffic and passenger management plan was also drawn up to prepare for the influx of motorists during the Holy Week and the summer months. The PMAC meeting was initiated by the International Port of Batangas, headed by PMAC chairman, Leopoldo Biscocho Jr. (bottom photo, second from left) and attended by representatives of the different government agencies, private ports, shipping companies, cargo trucks and bus operators. STC, represented by its business development head, Tony Reyes (top photo, left), is among the private companies that are active in helping the province address its traffic concerns, both vehicles and people.
